Prerequisites​

The NinjaOne Public API only supports OAuth 2.0, and access tokens expire after one hour. The connector therefore authenticates with the Client Credentials flow and requests a fresh token whenever one is needed.

  1. In NinjaOne, go to Administration > Apps > API, open the Client App IDs tab, and click Add.
  2. Choose API Services (machine-to-machine) as the Application Platform, give the application a name, and select the Monitoring scope. Monitoring grants read-only access, which is all the connector needs. The connector doesn't request specific scopes, so its access token gets every scope you enable on the application.
  3. Under Allowed Grant Types, select Client Credentials.
  4. Save the application and copy the generated Client ID and Client Secret. The secret is only shown once.
note

If the connection test fails with 404 Client Error: Not Found for url: https://<region>.ninjarmm.com/ws/oauth/token, NinjaOne didn't recognize the Client ID. Check the ID and make sure the selected Region matches the instance where the application was created.
